How We Work

From first conversation to finished project.

Hiring a painter should not feel like a gamble. This page walks you through exactly how a Pineapple Cove project runs, in the same five steps, on every home. No surprises, no vague promises, and no payment until we have walked the finished work together. I'm Martin, the owner, and this is how I do things.

The Five Steps

A simple process, done carefully.

These are photos from real projects, not stock images. Every home goes through the same five steps, whether it's one bedroom or a whole exterior.

1First Contact

Call, text, or request an estimate

Reach out by phone, text, or the website form, whichever is easiest for you. There's no call center and no salesperson. The person reading your message is the person who will paint your house.

If I'm actively painting or with a customer when you reach out, I return your message as soon as I'm available. Tell me roughly what you're thinking, interior, exterior, a couple of rooms, or the whole house, and we'll find a walk-through time that fits your schedule.

2Free Walk-Through

In-home walkthrough

We schedule a time to walk the project together. I look at every surface up close, the condition of the stucco or drywall, where the old paint is failing, what needs caulk, and what needs prime, because the prep is what decides how long the finish lasts.

You show me what bothers you, we talk through colors and sheens, and I answer every question on the spot. The walk-through is free, it usually takes well under an hour, and there is zero pressure at the end of it. You should never feel cornered in your own kitchen.

3Written Estimate

Your estimate, in writing

After the walkthrough you receive a detailed written estimate, by paper, text, or email, whichever you prefer. It spells out the full scope of work, so you can see exactly what you're paying for, line by line, and compare it against any other quote.

I quote a good, better, best set of Sherwin-Williams paint systems and tell you plainly which one your walls actually need. Your price is exact, not a range that grows later, and the estimate holds for 30 days. No expiring "today only" number, no follow-up pressure calls.

4The Work Itself

Preparation and painting

Your home gets carefully prepared and protected before any paint moves. Floors, furniture, landscaping, and walkways are covered, failing paint is scraped and sanded, gaps get fresh caulk, and bare spots get primed. Then the painting happens with quality Sherwin-Williams products and attention to detail throughout.

The site gets picked up at the end of every day, so you're never living in a construction zone, and I keep you posted as the work moves so you always know what's happening and what comes next.

5Sign-Off

Final walkthrough, together

Once the project is complete, we walk the home together and look at everything in good light. If something needs a touch-up, it gets handled before we call it finished, not added to a someday list.

Your remaining balance is due only after that walkthrough, when you're happy with what you see. And the work is backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty, in writing, honored by me directly.

How Pricing Works

Exact numbers, no games.

I don't quote off square footage guesses over the phone, because guessing is how surprises happen. Here's the honest version.

Every project is priced exactly after a free in-home walk-through. You get a written estimate by paper, text, or email that holds for 30 days, with a good, better, best choice of Sherwin-Williams paint systems and a plain recommendation on which one your home actually needs.

Payment is simple: a 50% deposit reserves your start date and materials, and the balance is due at the final walkthrough, after you've seen the finished work. For a full breakdown of what moves a painting price up or down, read the guide to what it costs to paint a house on the Treasure Coast.

Frequently Asked

Process questions, answered straight.

How fast can you come out for a walk-through?

Usually within a few days, depending on the season. I answer calls and texts myself, so if I am on a ladder or with a customer when you reach out, I return your message as soon as I am free, and we pick a walk-through time that works around your schedule, evenings included.

What should I do before the walk-through?

Nothing special. You do not need to clean or move anything. It helps to know which areas you want painted and to have a rough idea of colors, but plenty of homeowners figure that out during the walk-through itself. Bring your questions, that is the best preparation there is.

What happens after I accept the estimate?

A 50% deposit reserves your spot on the calendar and lets me order your materials, and you get your start date confirmed in writing. From there we prep, protect, and paint, with updates along the way. The remaining balance is due only after we do the final walkthrough together and you are happy with the work.

Where I Paint

The same process, near you.

I'm based in Palm City and paint across Martin County and Port St. Lucie. If you're in one of these towns, you're in my normal weekly routes.

See what the process delivers: exterior painting, interior painting, and pressure washing. Or read the guide to what it costs to paint a house and the reviews from homeowners who've been through all five steps.

Step One Starts Here
